Tickets for the event, to be held at Saint James Church Events Center located at 1872 Camp Road, are available for $25 per person. Reservations and payment are due on or before February 3, 2014.
As a former Chairman of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission (2012-2013) and the author of three books Little Muddy Waters: A Gullah Folk Tale, Reminiscences of Sea Island Heritage: Legacy of Freedmen on St Helena Island and De Gullah Storybook (fa laarn fa count from 1-10), Mr. Daise is a well-respected advocate of acknowledging the lasting contributions and preserving the history of the Gullah Geechee community. Mr. Daise and his wife, Natalie, were also the stars of the award-winning Gullah Gullah Island, a popular show produced by Nick Jr. that told the story of a family who lived on an island off the coast of South Carolina.
