Lifelong Learning Series Luncheon featuring Ronald Daise
Join us at noon on Saturday, February 8, 2014 as we continue our popular Lifelong Learning Series with a special Luncheon and Fundraiser featuring Gullah author and performing artist, Ronald Daise. Tickets for the event, to be held at Saint James Church Events Center located at 1872 Camp Road, are available for $25 per person. Reservations and payment are due on or before February 3, 2014.

As a former Chairman of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission (2012-2013) and the author of three books Little Muddy Waters: A Gullah Folk Tale, Reminiscences of Sea Island Heritage: Legacy of Freedmen on St Helena Island and De Gullah Storybook (fa laarn fa count from 1-10), Mr. Daise is a well-respected advocate of acknowledging the lasting contributions and preserving the history of the Gullah Geechee community. Mr. Daise and his wife, Natalie, were also the stars of the award-winning Gullah Gullah Island, a popular show produced by Nick Jr. that told the story of a family who lived on an island off the coast of South Carolina.
